During the renovation, the team faced a challenge: they wanted to expand the shop and offer guests more choices, without having to add extra staff. The solution? A smart, self-service shop with the QIOX FRIEND Counter that eases the team’s workload while enhancing the guest experience.



From Mini-Shop to Smart Self-Service

The new lobby now features a stylish shop where guests can grab something tasty or useful 24/7. From a bottle of water or chips to coffee, games, or even a power bank. Everything a hotel guest might need is within easy reach. With the QIOX FRIEND Counter serving as a digital checkout, guests can quickly and independently complete their purchases.‘Especially in the early morning or late at night, people come by to get something,’ says Tessa.

‘There’s no need to have a colleague there all day. Thanks to the kiosk, we can keep the shop open 24/7 without extra staff. It works perfectly.’

The self-service shop also fits seamlessly with the rhythm of the hotel. During busy moments, guests can grab what they need quickly, while the reception continues smoothly with check-ins or other tasks. ‘It’s great that we can easily manage it,’ Tessa adds. ‘Just counting stock and updating prices now and then, that’s all it takes. It’s an extra task, but a fun one.’



Hospitality for everybody

Guest reactions have been overwhelmingly positive. ‘Children love it. To them, it looks like a giant iPad. And older guests use the kiosk just as easily. It’s wonderful to see that everyone can handle it. The little shop has become a place that’s truly easy and enjoyable for everyone to use.’



Up and running in no time

The installation of the kiosk went surprisingly smoothly as well. ‘I was almost shocked by how quickly it was set up,’ Tessa laughs.


‘It was in place before I knew it, and even before it was officially turned on, guests were eager to use it. People started checking out their items even while we were still setting it up.’

With the addition of the QIOX kiosk, Flonk Hotels has not only revamped its reception area but also elevated the guest experience. It’s a smart solution that perfectly combines hospitality, convenience, and innovation appreciated daily by guests of all ages.
