It almost feels unreal to say that I’ve now been part of QIOX for three years. (Actually, I’ve been involved even longer: I did an internship in 2016 and later continued working freelance for the company.) After a period working in other roles and industries, I returned to QIOX in February 2022.

In the three years since, so much has changed—from our office to how we collaborate and manage projects. But some things haven’t changed, and that’s what makes QIOX what it is: a close-knit, ambitious, and enthusiastic creative team.

When I started in February 2022, we were still in a small office next to our factory space. There were three of us (including me) and one installer, and everything at QIOX was managed from that tiny office.

During the COVID period and its aftermath, we received a huge number of requests, which was tough for a team of four. So it was time to bring in new colleagues. But as a start-up, you might recognize the challenge: structure still needs to be built, so hiring new people isn’t always simple, especially post-COVID. Once we welcomed our first new team member, QIOX really started to grow.

Fun fact: this office used to belong to a game developer, and sometimes packages for them still arrived. The most memorable? A life-size Pokémon card! As a fan, of course I had to take a photo with it.

After our team grew, we moved to our current office at Wethouder Den Oudenstraat 8 in Helmond. There we set up our first in-house showroom for QIOX kiosks, and over time, the office started to take shape.

In three years, the team grew from four people to eleven plus one intern. During this period, we improved workflows, added structure, and gradually everything fell into place.

Our current way of working is the result of everyone’s hard work, helping QIOX evolve from a start-up into a scale-up. Of course, QIOX will continue to grow, and I’m proud of where we are now: how our products have developed, how we’ve built recognition not just in the Netherlands but abroad, and above all, how our team has grown with creative and fun people who truly fit together.

And what has stayed the same? Hard work, a clear vision for an innovative future, and the drive to create a product we, our partners and customers can be proud of. I look forward to QIOX’s future and can’t wait to see where we’ll be in another three years.
